Victory State Bank Lists 5 Ways
To Get Your Consumer Voice Heard
STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – When a product or a service you’ve paid for disappoints you, follow the coorect course of action, says Victory State Bank.
Don’t settle for a shabby performance; instead get your money back. Most businesses want to keep you happy so you’ll be a returning customer.
Victory State Bank points to the following strategies suggesested by the Federal Trade Commission:
Return to the store or Web site. You can solve many consumer problems by talking to a store employee, or if you bought the item online, by returning to the website. Do this as soon as possible because some retailers have time limits on returns and refunds.
Call customer service. You may need to speak to someone at the company’s national headquarters or to the manufacturer of the product. Many companies provide a toll free number or address for the customer service department on the product packaging, warranty or receipt.
Use social media. Many companies have people to monitor posts and complaints about their service on social media pages. Your post will be most effective if you use a reasonable tone and explain the problem clearly.
Write a letter. If a call doesn’t work, draft an effective complaint. Describe the item you bought and the problem; include serial or model numbers and the name and location of the seller.
Get Outside Help. If your letter doesn’t do the trick, file a complaint with your state and local organizations. It’s free of charge.
While under some circumstances there is no guarantee for a refund, Victory State Bank shares these tips so your voice as a consumer voice can always be heard.
