According to the New York City Department of Consumer Affairs (http://www.nyc.gov/html/dca/html/home/home.shtml), one in five jobs in New York City is at risk because of illegally downloaded movies, music and books and counterfeit designer goods.

Counterfeit and pirated merchandise also cost the city millions of dollars in lost tax revenue.
