Join With Victory State Bank And Others To Assist Those In Need
STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. --Victory State Bank and other corporate sponsors have come on board to support Project Hospitality’s Dine Out Against Hunger on April 26. Others include: Met Foods, the New York State Restaurant Association, H&A Construction, Northfield Bank, the Staten Island Advance, the Borough President’s Office, the Hilton Garden Inn, Catering by Framboise, ShopRite, whereyoueat.com, Mindsaw and R&L Press.
The Rev. Terry Troia has the whole gang rolling up their sleeves to try to make this time round a great success.
I know you have been reading about it, and for some of you, while your heart goes out to those who are less fortunate than you, the cost of a meal is just not in your budget right now.
You can still help. I can remember, when I was a youngster, the song, “Buddy, Can You Spare a Dime?” Those dimes would add up.
Now the question is “Buddy, can you spare a dollar?”
How about considering imitating what some of the high schools on the Island are doing to help?
Do you belong to a senior citizens group? AARP? Housing project center? JCC or YMCA senior activity club? Bridge club? Friendship club? Dance group? Choral group? Photographers’ club? Church/Temple or Synagogue?
How about getting the gang together and encouraging everyone to just donate $1?
