Staten Island business leaders unite to help Sandy victims avoid 'scavengers'

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- A coalition of Staten Island business leaders, determined to help borough residents get back on their feet after Sandy's deadly wrath, have formed REBUILD SI, aimed at aiding homeowners connect with reputable contractors to avoid scams.

"The main goal is to educate people so they can start the process of rebuilding their homes and their lives," said Ralph Branca, president of Victory State Bank, who put the group together.
