Staten Island Attorney Pens 2 Songs Among 10 Finalists Vying For CMT Listeners’ Choice Award

Songs co-written by lawyer Jonathan D’Agostino are among the best 3 years running

STATEN ISLAND – A Staten Island lawyer who handles accident cases for a living has proven that writing top-notch songs is no accident.

For the third consecutive year, Eltingville-based personal-injury attorney Jonathan D’Agostino has penned a top-ten finalist song in the annual Country Music Television/Nashville Songwriters Association International (CMT/NSAI) song of the year contest.

The winning song will net the prestigious 2013 CMT Listeners’ Choice Award.

"I'm really humbled, honored and blown away for my songs to have been selected once again from among some 2,000 competing submissions. I'm also very happy for my co-writers, Jason Eustice of Hendersonville, Tenn., and Chris Corley of Middletown, N.J.,” D’Agostino said.

D’Agostino’s two award contenders this year are titled “Sha La La,” co-written with Eustice, and “Little Things,” co-written with Corley.

Beginning on Feb.1, both songs will be posted on nsai.cmt.com along with the other 8 competing finalists. Fans are encouraged to visit the site to listen to -- and vote for -- their favorite. Voting will be open throughout the month of February.
