‘Shred Fest’ Will Help You Protect Your Personal Data

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. – Victory State Bank wants you, our friends and neighbors, to know about a special opportunity for protecting your personal data.

Shred Fest is an annual City event to help New Yorkers prevent identity theft.

The event will take place on Sunday (May 19), from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Arthur Von Briesen Park in Fort Wadsworth.

The event is organized through the Department of Consumer Affairs (DCA).

At Shred Fest you can:

  • Safely shred papers containing personal information for free using shredding trucks
  • Get free identity theft prevention tips
  • Get a FREE paper shredder* donated by Staples if you are one of the first 5 people to arrive with your papers at a Shred Fest location.

*NOTE: New York City government employees are not eligible to receive a free shredder. If more than five people are present at a Shred Fest location before volunteers arrive, volunteers will use their best judgment to determine paper shredder recipients. Recipients will fill out a form to confirm they are not City government employees.
