Going to a Holiday Gathering? Take Steps to Avoid Driving Under the Influence
As family and friends gather for Christmas Eve celebrations, Victory State Bank wishes everyone a joyous and safe holiday.
With this in mind, Staten Island’s only community-based business bank, is also reminding partygoers not to drink and drive.
The bank wants everyone to enjoy the festivities and to make safety a priority by taking these steps when alcohol is being served:
§ Make plans so that you don’t have to drive after drinking.
§ Prior to any drinking, designate a non-drinking driver when with a group.
§ Don’t let your friends drive impaired. Take their keys away.
§ If you have been drinking, get a ride home or call a taxi.
§ If you’re hosting a party where alcohol will be served, remind your guests to plan ahead and designate their sober driver; offer alcohol-free beverages; and make sure all guests leave with a sober driver.
Remember: Even one drink impairs driving ability and increases the risk of a crash.
To learn more about the dangers of impaired driving, log onto the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
